barter puzzle
Barter puzzle
As previous activities, in this week also we had a very nice ppd session with an exciting game called batter puzzle. According to my point of view, this batter puzzle game represent the society that we are about to go through and which we cannot avoid. Because of that reason, everybody played that very well.
The task was: the lecture gave us a picture of a magazine and gave 10 minutes to have a good look on it. Then 2 members of each group including the leader asked cut that picture into 100 parts and separate 10 parts. The lecturer collected all separated parts from each group and mixed well. Then she divided all the 30 pats into 3 groups and gave us again. Then we had to make the picture correctly within 10 minutes.
First of all, our team leader kept mixed 10 parts in her hand and separate unwanted parts. Then we divided our group into some subgroups and we fixed the puzzle. Finally we completed picture by collecting all parts. Then there were some volunteer members to exchange the missing parts from other groups. To win the game, we have done those tricks.
Within 8 minutes we were able to fix 98 parts correctly. We had some problems with finding missing parts. And we had to spent more time on that than we expected. When we analyses the reasons for that failure, miscommunication between teams and not following the leader. However we were able to fixed 99 parts of our puzzle and we were the winning team.
As I mentioned, solving the puzzle by using batter system (old method of exchanging good for other goods in return) represent the current society situation very clearly. Therefore what I learnt from this activity is the way of getting work done by and through people.
Nice work..
