Expertise


In today PPD session we had done an amazing activities. The first one is the expertise.


In that game we were divided into 4 groups with 5/6 members each group. And we have to decide our own expertise fields, one for each member. Then we had to come up with a product with our expertise fields.


Our selected expertise fields were designing, gaming and cricket. Then we select our product as “CRICK FEST 2018” the computer game as our team product. The product have very interesting features as well as it has super features which are able to attract users. Then we had some idea of to market the product and we came up with a prize which was quit unbelievable.


After the given time, we had to present our product to the class. In this session I learn many things and enjoys a lot at the same time. As software engineering students we had come up with quite technical products without thinking simply. I think that is the best part of the task.


Then the second mini task were so much entertaining, we enjoyed a lot while doing it. We were given with a pen, celotapes and a thread. We had to write the given word on the paper without touching the pen and all members should hold the thread as well then we tied the thread to the pen like a bow and we hold the pen as balancing the forces with four ends. Then we were able to write the word. But unfortunately our pen did not work properly. Therefore we were unable to do the task properly.


Anyhow that day we enjoyed a lot with my colleagues.

Paper Tower Game According to my point of view, this paper tower game which we have done in our ppd session is not just a game. It can be considered as a group activity which can improve our soft skills which cannot be developed only by doing the academic stuff. Leadership skills, speaking ability, creative thinking and time management are some of those soft skills. What is the paper tower game? First of all we were divided into three groups by counting. In this activity we were provided 12 papers, a gum tape and a pair of scissors. Apart from that, the tower that we built could be stand at the given place. Then we have to build the tallest tower within the given 45 minutes. How did we do that? First of all we had a small discussion about the way we build the tower. What you learn from PPD PPD which is known as Personal Progress Development can be considered as a guild line of our lives. Not only that but also it is energy and time saving method. From these PPD sessions that we had in our university, we were able to make new unforgettable memories as well as good lessons. According to my view, our PPD session is mainly focused on the point which is having a strategy before starting a task. We have to pay more attention to some points like the dead line, way of doing the task (analysing the task), things that make the task easier, way of getting maximum use from the given resources. First of all we have to spend some time on analyzing the given task or the activity. Then we have to put our effort according to the impotency of each work.
