“The higher you climb a hill, the more conspicuous you become and much smaller in eyes of others.” Throughout this two year of our PPD life, we have become closer and closer, we have identified ourselves what are the strengths and weaknesses that we have, and we have some what improve in this journey. As this is the last episode of my PPD journey, I would like to thank all support that I gain from everybody. And I would like to thank our conductor for been with us for two years. Everybody faces their own types of difficulties during the undergraduate life in university life. It can be academic issues or financial issues or relationship problems. Trust walk can be considered as an activity that we had learn many things through out the game. In out real life there are some sort of situations that we had to trust people blindly when there is no option for us to do. That situation has created in this activity and we get a real experience of facing in a such situation. It was a pair activity, one should be blindfolded and the other should be the guide. The guide should provide guidance for the blindfolded person for the given destination. There were many interesting obstacles here and there in the activity premises. We had to go to our destination which was at the outside of the classroom without touching them. Curriculum vitae (AKA CV) is something very important to anyone who wish to start their career life. As undergraduates, and as we have to face our internships in near future CV making was taught by our conductor. Not only making one, but also how to avoid common mistakes that we make during that process also taught. There are some titles that should be included to the cv. Personal details, educational qualifications, professional qualifications, work experiences, trainings and workshops, skills and references are them. When including information to those titles, the consistency of format should be kept all the time. As this CV you giving to the company is the first thing that they judge about your personality, more attention should be paid. First, you should select a nice good-looking photo of yourself. Expertise In today PPD session we had done an amazing activities. The first one is the expertise. In that game we were divided into 4 groups with 5/6 members each group. And we have to decide our own expertise fields, one for each member. Then we had to come up with a product with our expertise fields. Our selected expertise fields were designing, gaming and cricket. Then we select our product as “CRICK FEST 2018” the computer game as our team product. The product have very interesting features as well as it has super features which are able to attract users. Then we had some idea of to market the product and we came up with a prize which was quit unbelievable. After the given time, we had to present our product to the class. My first visit to WSO2 Thankful to Ms. Sarasi Senadheera, who is the lecturer of our PPD session we had the great opportunity of participating such an interesting session at WSO2. Including me, for most of us that was the very first visit to IT Company and it was very important as undergraduate of Software engineering. We were little bit earlier for the session and we had the chance of getting adjust for the company environment. It was a nice place with lot of nice people. The session was well organized and when we entered the conductors have prepared with informative presentation. As well as they gave us notebooks and pens as memorials of session. The attitude of the company towards their employees was well shown for all of us. Facing for an interview  PPD we were taught how to face an interview with all confident. There are some good points that we have focused as it can become very useful at a situation like this. To pass the interview and to make the interviewers impressed on ourselves we have to focus on those points. By following these points we can be more self-confident at the moment. We should have done a little bit of researching about the company and the interviewers as well in terms of make them impressed on ourselves. Knowing their mission, interaction with clients and employees will be helpful to get familiar with them and to the company environment. We should imagine the situation at the interview before the interview and we should prepare ourselves to fit to the curtain situation. Story making (group activity) In this activity, our mainly focused on the fact that, how much communication is affect to the efficiency of the activity. The activity was we were divided into 3 groups and we were asked to face back to the white board. Every group a marker pen was given and we should write a story but a group member can only write one word at one time. And there were 4 rounds. At that time we were so excited about the activity. One by one in our group went to the board and write the story. When my chance arrives and when I came to the board I was shocked to see it. It was a total nonsense. After all rounds completed, we red our story, at the very beginning it was very fun read all those nonsenses. But after our lecture explained how communication matters to a work, we realized what was wrong with the stories. It was a fun activity although it doesn’t take much time.

Rocket making activity We started our second semester first activity in PPD very excitingly as we know something interesting is coming up. Our lecture divided us to 2 groups and we got 6 papers in Yellow color. We were asked to make paper rockets as much as we can in 20 minutes. First of all we got 3 minutes to discuss about the task and to come up with ideas to make the task more efficient. Then the lecture marked a 10 feet distance on the floor. We had to make our rocket fly across the 10 feet distance. We did some trial rounds and came up with 2 sizes which can possibly cross the marked distance. Some of our members (including me) have not known how to make rockets. So for learning process it took a considerable amount of time. When the time is over we could only make 29 planes. Then 2 boys were chosen to make it fly. Out of 29, only were able to pass the line. It was a failure for our team. In this activity I learnt to make rockets as well as working w...

Flash backs…..PPD As this is the last episode of the year, we were asked to write a conclusion all ppd sessions that we had though out the year. We had done many activities which teach important lessons to our life in this week. Most of them were group works which gave us the knowledge and practice to survive in the current society.in every Wednesday; we willingly attended for the session with a hope of a new exciting activity. 1. Out bound training program Paper tower In paper tower we were provided papers and celotapes, we had to make the tallest tower which can stand without any external support. Out bound training program at the naval camp I can consider this episode of my block is about a kind of different program compared to other activities that we had weekly in the university. As undergraduates normally we have hectic life styles by doing assignments, doing presentations.  We spent very hectic in front of the laptops coding. For people like this was a wonderful opportunity to pay more attention to our soft skills. Officers at  the navy camp had organised many fun activities for us to do. Though we were tired at the moment we were willingly participate for those games. All the games were based on personal progression. We learnt how to follow the leader as well as how to express our ideas among group members. We had a very colourful evening at the camp beach. We were asked to preform items such as songs dances and dramas. Although we had not enough time to be prepared,  we have done a great job and we made that night a wonderful one. ...

Barter puzzle As previous activities, in this week also we had a very nice ppd session with an exciting game called batter puzzle. According to my point of view, this batter puzzle game represent the society that we are about to go through and which we cannot avoid. Because of that reason, everybody played that very well. The task was: the lecture gave us a picture of a magazine and gave 10 minutes to have a good look on it. Then 2 members of each group including the leader asked cut that picture into 100 parts and separate 10 parts. The lecturer collected all separated parts from each group and mixed well. Then she divided all the 30 pats into 3 groups and gave us again. Then we had to make the picture correctly within 10 minutes. First of all, our team leader kept mixed 10 parts in her hand and separate unwanted parts. Then we divided our group into some subgroups and we fixed the puzzle. The goals This week we have done a bit different activity (an individual one) for our weekly ppd session. In other weeks we normally did group activities in order to improve our skills in team working, but in this week the activity that we have done, can be considered as a self observation. We were asked to bring card board and color pens in the last day of the first sem. Then we were asked to draw a chart about our life goals. First of all we divided goals into 3 parts. 1. Academic goals 2. Professional goals 3. Personal goals We created beautiful charts. In this week we were asked to bring all those charts we had made that day to do the presentation. Preventing the egg from breaking. Among our weekly ppd activities, this activity is very exciting as well as thoughtful. As always we were provided by some recourse by the conductor. 1. 5 papers 2. The egg 3. A role of gumtape 4. Small piece of paper to decorate At the end of the task the egg should be able to survive when it drop from 10ft height. First of all we thought about the given task and we divided the task in to 2 major paths. We wanted to protect the egg from touching the ground when its falling time and we wanted to make the egg shell stronger. Therefore we came across the idea of an egg holding bag and an egg shell shield. We divided our 4 group member into 2 groups and we did as we decided. We made the bag with papers and we added an across with paper to absorb the pressure when the egg coming to the bag. And we wrapped the whole egg by using gumtape in order to make the shell stronger.
